Warren H. Wong

Warren H. Wong is an independent transformational Talent Management Consultant.  Warren’s last full-time role was as the Executive Vice President of Talent & Culture at Appnovation, a global digital consultancy based in Vancouver, B.C., where he was responsible for the company’s global Human Resources organization including corporate social responsibility and diversity & inclusion.  Warren is a strategic human capital and servant leader whose passion is to transform, enable and inspire both for profit and not for profit organizations. 

Warren has more than thirty-five years of progressive experience and success in influencing hyper growth emerging and global organizations ranging from local start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.  Vancouver based companies that have benefited from Warren’s leadership include Elastic Path Software and Burntsand (now OpenText) plus international organizations such as eBay. Warren is a Simon Fraser University Bachelor of Arts, Communications graduate. 

As a lifelong Vancouverite, Warren has generously given his time to a variety of local and national community and civic events/causes including the 1986 World Exposition, 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2011 Grey Cup Festival and the 2011 & 2018 Vancouver civic elections.  Very early on in Warren’s career he was a board member for the Psoriasis Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS). Prior to joining the Laurier Institution as Board Secretary and Communications Officer, Warren was the Board Director and Secretary of the Greater Vancouver Food Society. 

With a passion to continuously give back to the community, presently, Warren is a Board Director and Secretary with the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.  In addition, Warren is a member of the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation’s Friends of the Chinatown Storytelling Centre Committee and a long time board advisor with Vertical Bridge Consulting.  In this spare time, Warren is an avid cyclist and is a ride leader with Glotman Simpson Cycling Club riding to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research.
