Honouring Nations Canada
with Fulbright Canada

The Laurier Institution is proud to partner with Fulbright Canada on Honoring Nations Canada, an Indigenous-led initiative that celebrates the resilience and accomplishments of Indigenous individuals. This program recognizes exceptional achievements through national awards and supports the development of case studies on Indigenous governance and economic development.

Recognizing, Celebrating, and Sharing Stories of Indigenous Achievement

Honoring Nations Canada (HNC), an initiative led by Fulbright Canada, recognizes and celebrates the remarkable achievements of Indigenous individuals and communities. This program is more than an awards ceremony; it is a tribute to resilience, leadership, and innovation, creating pathways for future opportunities while honoring Indigenous nation-builders.

At its core, HNC’s National Indigenous Good Governance Recognition and Awards Program is a biennial event that highlights outstanding examples of Indigenous governance. Beyond celebrating excellence, it fosters growth by sharing best practices and experiences from Indigenous communities across Canada.

The program also hosts webinars featuring Indigenous students, scholars, and community leaders, providing a platform for meaningful dialogue on issues directly impacting Indigenous communities. These events nurture knowledge-sharing and inspire collaborative solutions.

Through partnerships with university researchers and Indigenous communities, HNC amplifies the work and insights of Indigenous leaders, bridging academic and community perspectives to reach broader audiences and promote understanding.

Honoring Nations Canada exemplifies the power of recognition, collaboration, and empowerment. Through awards, webinars, and partnerships, this initiative uplifts Indigenous voices, fosters excellence, and contributes to shaping a stronger and more inclusive Canada.

As a proud partner of Honoring Nations Canada, The Laurier Institution is actively supporting the program’s mission to celebrate Indigenous excellence. Our efforts include contributing to written content and facilitating meaningful dialogue through the Laurier Roundtable series. More updates on these initiatives will be shared as the partnership evolves.
